Challenge
A Japanese Airline company is challenged by the constant congestion at the
airports at peak hours resulting in long queues and frustrating wait times for commuters and challenges
in managing the time. The diverse systems in various operating systems proved to be a technology
challenge in implementing a Lobby Service, where in customer service representatives can walk around
the lounge to service waiting passengers by checking them in, allocating seats and providing them with boarding card.
Solution
Personal Data Assistants and portable printers were provided to customer service representatives,
which are connected through wireless Lan to the servers located as a front end solution.
Behind the scenes the various servers running Windows, Solaris and IBM Mainframe operating systems are integrated
by a middleware developed in C++.
The front end is developed using J2EE running on Weblogic servers
